poping noise when backing out of space??

I have a slight noise in my front end when I back out of a parking space. it doesn't happen all of the time, but every once and a while it makes a poping noise. I dont' know what it is, one of my friends had the a similar problem but he had a nissan. If any one knows what it is please feel free to let me know.

I suspect that the steering bump stops are dry/missing plastic sleeve.
Just smear some multi-purpose grease on the bumpstops, that should stop the popping noises.
