Scratchy Sound when Accelerate...Not all the time..

Hello.... Woman with EX! Needs help. When I accelerate I hear a scratchy sound under the pedal. Almost like brakes rubbing. Checked the brakes last weekend and they still have plenty left on the pads. So now.. I am lost as to what it could be. I just had the truck on 4 months. This has been going on for about 1 month off and on. More ON than off. The car is out of warranty so I'm stuck. If you have heard of this problem before... Please give me some direction.
