Shakes and Vibrates at 120 km/h

Hey all,

I have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra and at about 120km/h the car shakes/vibrates but at a lower speed it's fine and the vibration stops 140 km/h. Has anyone had this or have any ideas on what could be causing this?

I've had the very same problem with my 2000 elantra. My mechanic did a wheel balancing and alignment, which helped reduce the problem, however I still dectect a little vibration at those speeds, but not continuously anymore. I'll post if and when I get completely rid of the problem.

If you're getting shakes and vibrations at those speeds, it's probably the cop shaking your car to roll down your window!

Possible solution in the works

...IF HYUNDAI CANADA WOULD MAKE A BLOODY DECISION!!! I've been waiting for four weeks now. What they are doing is figuring out whether or not replacing ALL FOUR STEEL WHEELS is covered by my HPP warranty.

I asked them why they wanted to replace all the wheels and they said "for the vibration". Once that gets done, I'll see what happens and let you all know.

Re: Re: Shakes and Vibrates at 120 km/h

HERES'S THE 800 number for the main line

1-800-461-5695 or 905-977-0202

The internal bulletin your looking for is #117 publish in...i'm not sur but around October 2002.

at First you should try to get a copie of this document by fax just tell them you want to sale your car and you need to proove to the new owner that the problem is fix....because your are an honest person...

ok let's start...

Help desk extension #396 (hard to get info from there)

Ross Maher Customer relat. Manager for HYUNDAI ca ext: 777
M.Maher dosen't really have any power into the cie but he is good to
mess up thinks.. in your favor haha!..

National Manager of Custom. Relation. M.Chess Baldvini nice gentelmen very comprhensive but hard to reach extension #723...your best bet is... if he dosen't return your call, leave him messsages to other mailbox like ;

hello i'm calling for M.Maher or Baldvini could you call me back it's important leave your name and phone number but stay polite...

that way they will call him from all around the building to tell him that Nexus72 called for him imagine.....beleive me he will call you back pretty soon....

ok let's go with other extension number for mailbox....

Accounting dept Jennifer #703
Verginia #704
#705

Distribution Dept. #720
Zone Dept. #721 M.Novel
Dealer Assistance # 307 veru usefull but you need to call your dealer
and ask the operator (secretary that answer) that your need the dealer id number for furtehr correspondance it's should be a 5digit number.
follow the instruction on the mailboxe and leave a message in behalf of your name and ask them to call back RUSH regarding (yourname ) problem's and thank them ....that should the the work that way you dealer will recevie call's from Hyundai canada and they will want to know who you are...capitch

R-H dept Anisha #727

Customer Relation. Jay collins #751
Tammer #752 (those guys are smarter...)
Jame blake #753 (they know the game)

PartS Dept #766 Mathew

National Sales Rept. M.CABALCA #775

Marketing Jeff #781

and so on....

don't forget when you ask someone ext or info always pretend that you know the person you try to reach,,,, they fall for this.....

let me know...tip me on your follow up i'm currios

Re: Shakes and Vibrates at 120 km/h

Update....Hyundai called me and they are replacing all four steel wheels and covers, since I had the old plastic ones. This is covered under the HPP warranty plan apparently but now I have to wait as they have to order them and so it will be next week.

Re: Shakes and Vibrates at 120 km/h

Appears I was wrong about the time frame. It took them a week to get the wheels in and then ANOTHER week to find an open timeslot to do the work! Apparently, some of their techs were on vacation and they are short staffed. Must be nice. I hope their techs are having fun abroad seeing as I had to cancel my plans to travel because I've been waiting TWO months to get this fixed!

Hyundai has lost a customer in me in the future as well as my parents who are in the market for a new vehicle and WERE going to get a Sonata. They're staying with Ford now because of all this garbage.

Needless to say, I have left Hyundai Canada a voicemail to call me back and/or have the national customer relations manager call me back about this. Guess what...no callbacks.
