Trunk problem.

My trunk has a big steel plate between the cab of my car and the trunk... which makes me lose alot of punch. i was curious if anyone has had this problem, and if there is anything that i could do to help.
thanks

most people either cut the plate (which will weaken the unibody), or remove the 6X9's in the rear shelf and pipe the bass thru there
