Why Get a RSX Type S

First off I'm a power freak. I love fast cars and making them fast. I'm in the market for buying a new car and the RSX Type S has set itself in my cross hairs because for odvious reasons (200Hp 142 lbs.-ft.) That alone from a N/A car is impressive for a I-4. My question is how hard is it to mod this car and how much am I looking to spend to get it up to roughly 220-240whp? how much ripping apart of the engine am I going to have to get into before this can be achieved? I hear alot on this forum about intakes and headers adding a horrific amount of hp. But is all that true? Has any one gone out and dynoed to see if they actually picked up that much hp? I just would like as many facts about modifications and overall performance before I go and sink 23K into this outstanding machine. -Flyboy

i don't know a whole lot about intakes and headers for rsx's. I've read in magazines that the aem v2 did exceptionally well though.

to get ~240 whp, your best bet is a full toda cam package, lightweight flywheel, aem v2 intake, dc sports 4-2-1 header, and neuspeed titanium cat back exhaust, and any high flow cat (try not to get a universal fit). I'm pretty sure that'd put you over 240, just wanted to give you some ideas/options.

well, the type S engine rocks man. With the turbonetics turbocharger, stage 2 ive seen and read about really amazing results. More than 300 WHP with those turbos running safely.
