I installed a remote starter and now have check engine light on. I had the battery run low with the doors open to install and recharged it but not sure if that is the problem or not. The older trucks a person could retrieve codes through the ECM connecter under dash but on the newer trucks I am not sure if it is the same or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all

What type of remote starter?
Did you use the passkey interface? Did you power up the second ignition wire?

I used a JBS remote starter and used the passlock II bypass module. The remote starter works well but the check engine light is on.

I bought a 2001 used and it did the same thing. I took it to a good automotive accessory specialty shop and they fixed it in a matter of minutes. I also had them set it so the lights did not flash on and off when started with the remote. Make sure you have this fixed soon or your passive lock system will eventualy shut your truck down.
