Re: Cutting out

This is a bit of a long shot,
But do you have any form of induction kitt on their (K&N57i ect). im not to sure about on your engine but with mine (C20XE) the feed from the induction kitt to the AFM (air flow meter) is to close to the cam cover and the head, injectors ect, so it draws in too much heat and kangeroo's and can cut out.

Either that or have ICV (idle control valve) cleaned it might be that the rev's are droping below 800rpm and causing the engine to stall.

if the engine starts straigh away after cutting out the chances are that it's not a serious problem and can be easily fixed, you just have to pinpoint whats wrong.

I have a similar problem, sometimes it cuts out, other times it revs up when idling as if I was playing with the gas peddle: could this be a similar problem do you think?

Re: Cutting out

hi guy's i have an idle problem that is intermitent and it seems to rev itself up to around 1500rpm and then drop to 500rpm and rev up again and it continues doing this cycle as if i were to be playing with the gas pedal. It does not always do it and sometimes the spanner on the dash light's up then goes away. is there anyway of reading the codes in this car or does anyone know what it is i am thinking IAC valve but i want to be sure.

ok i think it might be the throttle body as my engine is the Z18XE and has a stepper motor as part of the throttle body so no cable and it might be stuffing up i think it is pricey as you have to buy a whole new TB any ideas from you guy's???
also how do we pull codes it's not working for me???
