old threads.

some message boards they don't like it when you add too many threads, they want you to use the ones already up. If we cannot use old threads, then why are they not closed already?

Re: old threads.

Yup, they get mad when you add too many threads on the same subject. Well, all sites have different rules.

They aren't closed they are like an archive, just if you want to add something to a old thread simple. Don't do it just make a new one about the same topic if that is what you want to post about.

Re: Re: old threads.

Yeah but when someone say, digs up an old thread about a certain subject they get jumped on. It makes sense to me to close all the old ones and keep posting new subjects.

Threads stay open until they die a natural death[unless they breach the AF Guidelines].Deciding exactly which ones are dead can be tricky.

It's not a tough call ,however, when someone dives into the archives, picks a long-dead thread, and drags it back to the top of the board by adding a comment that adds nothing to the original discussion.Often, the members who have created the original thread have moved on and no longer visit AF.

If you went into a bar, would you try to continue a conversation that was finished before you arrived?I don't think so.

If you think that a topic is still a good talking point, start it afresh. The AF community is a constantly-changing one,and the views of former members may be slightly interesting, but they are not really that relevant.

Re: old threads.

What Naki Naki said. Read the guidelines. As to why they aren't closed? Because that is a hell of a lot of effort on the mods part when it's much easier to just enforce rules as they are broken.
