Shift Knob Question

Ok I have a automatic 95 Probe GT with overdrive on my shift knob. I never use it and I was wondering if I could buy a new automatic shift knob and it would fit even with the overdrive. Now I know there wouldn't be a button for the overdrive, but it doesnt matter cause I dont use it. Would the new shift knob fit? or would the overdrive get in the way?

Re: Shift Knob Question

good question, it looks like a trial and error question.

Thumbs up

i think that if you were to take the o/d button away, it wouldn't be too good on your tranny. but what i would suggest is to just re-route the wire to another hidden location in ur car and just install a simple pushbutton switch, cheap at radio shack. Re-routing your o/d button wire is going to require you to pull you center console totally out. not too much fun. I am in the same boat as you are, i want a different shift knob like you read about. but have yet to see one with o/d option.
