ever since i've gotten my maxima i've been trying to pick on cars. going next to them, revving, and then taking off. no one wants to race anymore. even at lights, there's a riced out car next to me and it doesn't pull all the way up to the light.

i just find this unusual! i know the cops came out of the woodwork in cleveland about 3-4 months ago, and they are like a swarm of bees around the whole city, but you would think there would be some people out there willing to go for a nice 10-20mph spurt

tonite i even pulled next to a z32 with apexi (or similiar) slanted dual exhausts, at about 30mph started revving....... no go.

is it the area? my car? the sound of my intake?

weird. i just want to take down some cars.



btw i will post here once i get a audio clip of my intake. sounds like a rampaging beast.

i love the sound of a VQ30DE with an intake. its not the typical smooth induction noise that you would hear from a honda,but its a very rough but somewhat smooth sound. which makes it sound crazy

you nailed it right on the nose.

right when i got it, i seriously checked to see if there was a turbo under the hood. it sounds just like forced induction, and when i put on the intake it sounded a lot louder and a lot meaner.

and whats great about it, when i drive it normal without stepping on the gas its quiet as stock. once it hits 3k rpms its like a semi passing you out of the blue (maybe not the best analogy, but you know..)

the intakes are unusualy loud. you can just rev from a stand still and it will sound insane.

edit: thats what i think are scaring those potential guys away.

haha. you may be right...

they prolly think its a supercharged max. very few of those.


i tried looking for vid and audio clips for the intake sound, i found a few for a 97 but it sounds nothing like that. i have the intake extension but wont install it until spring (moisture...).

even with just an intake though this thing has serious power. i've been going all around town the last week and just downshifting everywhere to show off the sound... hahaha. and whenever i see another max i let it go crazy.


edit: forgot to mention, my sound resonator is still there. once i remove that it will be heaven on earth.

I rev it and all you hear is the whine.. I don't have the exhaust sound like the 2.8 that sounded healthy and rather mean. Oh well lost the exhaust sound and got a shit load of performance

just keep a look out you'll find them sooner or later.

i was either thinking of telling people it is supercharged or has an rb26dett under the hood..... haha they would believe me

Yes they do, but they take quite a bit of gas, and older cars require constant maintenance

That being said, I'm the proud(broke) owner of a 25 year old Porsche

it is very nice.

my only reason for selling: gas mileage and maintenance. just like cbass said. and because i just bought a maxima and really like it.
