E39 Blower Resistor Location

Does anyone know where the resistor (pack) for the blower is located on an E39 5series. Mine is a 1997. 523SE

That car has a final stage(transistorized) resistor.I don't remember if its accessible from the side of the console?You may have to remove the dash(located w/ blower motor) like the e38.
