10 extra HP from B18A1

What did they change in 92 that brought the HP up from 130 to 140 in the B18A1? The only difference I have been able to find is a change is computers, but I doubt that is the only difference. Let me know, thanks

Michael

I don't know about that but I do know that they changed the intake manifold in 94 to give the B18B1 2 more hp and more tq. But also i think they changed the cams in 93, I think the 91&92 have the same hp and then the 93 got the 140 and the 94+ got 142. But you can get a intake manifold from a 94-95 integra and it will work on your car and free up some hp. I got 3 in the garage if you are intersested in one.

the 90-91 had 130hp, and the 92-93 had 140hp. i look at it in more detail and found there was a small difference in the camshafts. both 92 and 93 had elevation in. at 1.3274 and ex. at 1.3083 (it didn't specify what in. and ex. was, but i belive it stands for intake and exhaust). with the 90 and 91, the in. was both at 1.3160 and the ex. was at 1.5510 for the 90, and 1.3083 for the 91. this could the reason why the 92-93 have the higher hp. but what boggles me is since the camshafts are different in both the 90 &91, shouldn't they have different hp also?

Re: 10 extra HP from B18A1

The exaust manifold was smother flowing, and so was the exaust. the Ecu's were pre-obd in 90-91 models, but that was quickly changed in 92-93 models. in the 94-95 modles are obd-1, so therefore the intake manifold would not work out. the compression was bumpeds .6 points though. the head was also machined ported out in the exaust and valve ports. (90-91 pre-obd B18A1)(92-early 93 B18A1 Obd-1)(late 93-95 B18B1 Obd-2)(92-early 93 GS-r's were obd-1 B17A1)(late 93 Obd-2 w/ B18C1)
