Nah your turbo is fine, if anything it justs wont be able to hold max boost at high rpm. The best thing you could do for your setup right now is slap on a vtec head or re-work your stock one. 5800 is not very high, with a better flowing head with more aggressive profiles, you will be able to make a decent amount more power.

I'm just wanting to ask this as a question, I'm not trying to diss on what turbo you bought or anything, I'm just wondering if this is a true statement.

Do turbo's with larger trim(say a TO4 vs. a t3/t4) take longer to reach max boost? This would make sense because it takes a TO4 longer to spool up. Wouldn't a high reving engine be better with a TO4 than the t3/t4 because most Honda/Acura engines create their max power between 5-8000 rpms? Or would the t3/t4 be better because it spools up quicker so you can get your power earlier in the rpm's and you have vtec to hold you up on the top end rpm's(I mean all of this for engines with vtec of course) I would believe that I would rather have a slightly slower spooling turbo because it may not give you better take off bc of turbo lag, but when you reach say 5000 rpm's, your off like a rocket bc your turbo is at max boost to the rev limiter and vtec kicks in also round 5-6000 rpm's. Then when you switch into 2nd, your rpm's should be round 4000 so it should just take a split second for your turbo to be back at full boost. I've never had a turbo(but I will have one some day!) so if I said something wrong I'm sorry, but it would just make sense to me if you have a Vtec engine, that you would want a turbo that could still hold full boost during Vtec.

i got a small turbo because i only want to push 8psi. for the reason i have 10.5:1 cr. i can hit max boost at 3000 rpms. I just didnt want to blow the turbo. Im not really into ls vtec because od the rod stroke problems, I will eventually build my head(i do have a spare) with valves cams and soforth. Have you evere messed with electronic boost controllers? i could probably use one of those to bleed of boost till later rpms?
