Question Cold Air Intake????

Just curious......
Im about feed up with my MPG. So I took off my air silencer in front of the air box then realized that there is 2 air silencers. What does the 2nd one do? And has any1 found a Cold Air Intake 4 the Vue? If so does it help the MPG?Let me know!!!!
Right now im getting about 18 - 19 MPG. The dealer and paperwork on the truck said Id get around 21 - 28 MPG. So u can see why im kinda pissed.
Thanks Tyson

No one as of yet makes a cold air intake for the VUE. If anything, however, the CAI would lower your MPG. The 21-28 MPG claim is the EPA esitmate. When the EPA tests vehicles, they apply very little pressure to the gas pedal during city driving, and drive around 55 mph during highway driving. If you are doing a lot of stop and go driving, and have somewhat of a lead foot, 18-19 MPG wouldn't be too surprising, especially for a six cylinder.

Lightbulb Do not feel bad........

Hey there,

I have gotten up to 32MPG on the HWY with our AWD V6.
During our moving trip. This was doing 55-MPH and on a flat surface.
It can happen but not very often. Other then that we average about
20 if most is done in the city and 24/25 if we do most of it on the
HWY.

Re: Cold Air Intake????

Hey, I own a 2002 saturn vue AWD V6 and have been making mods to it. Ive put the redline body kit on it, and added 18'" rims and tires to it. As for the cold air intake, I finally found one for the 3.0 and the 3.5 at www.saturnmotorsports.com. Its around $250. I plan to get it this summer. Let me know if you find it
