2.5 Tech 4 force balancer help!
Hi All!
Newbie with a problem here. Just bought a 90 Grand Am with Tech 4 2.5 motor.(cheap) Was supposedly rebuilt then developed engine noise.(kind of a fast clanking)Pulled motor,checked three rod bearings I could get too,looked great,020 over. Then checked force balancer assembly(new to this),looked to be about a tooth out of time according to manual.Balance shafts are extremely loose in housing & were hitting each other,damaged. Are these repairable or what? Seen autozone wants like $340 for this whole ass., dont wanna go that route.Anyone have a good used spare? Car is in great shape & would like to fix.
