Question JDM ITR Header on B16A2

OK, I'm planning to get a header for my Si and was doing some research. I can't remember where I read this but I heard that the JDM ITR Header will give me more hp & torque gain than from aftermarket headers like DC and Greddy. Is this true? If so, will it fit my B16A2 without any modifications? I know that since the header is from the B18C it's gonna be lower than what my header is at the moment but how much will it be lower? Correct me if I'm wrong in any part of this but do you think this is the best header to get?

Yup, better power gains than the aftermarket stuff........ but it does sit REALLY low.... not a good idea if your car is lowered

It's also gonna be expensive to import a JDM header here. You might have better luck with a Mugen header.

I'm originally from Japan and I'm pretty sure there is a cheap way of getting the header from Japan even if it means I have to bring it over myself.

Then I say go for it. Oh, and while you're there, could you pick me up a Skyline GT-R? Thanks.

Now call me stupid, but you can NOT BEAT a DC 4-1 as far as giving you power when the b16 needs it most. We all know that the area around VTEC engagement blows on a B16. But DC 4-1 looks to solve it all. Mugen headers suck for the $$$ you fork for them, that money can buy you a header AND exhaust.

this is stock vs 4-2-1 vs 4-1

Wow, I didn't know there was THAT much of a difference between 4 to 1 and 4 to 2 to 1.

JDM ITR headers are okay. They're more of a thing for the "JDM freak" who wants exclusive JDM Honda OEM stuff. If you want a JDM 4-1 styled header, but don't care about the whole "JDM" thing, the DC Sports JDM ITR header is a good choice. Personally, I'd get that before the Honda one. Plus it's cheaper.

If you still want the Honda header, many places sell them now. Try:

www.randdmotorsports.com
www.ipsracing.com

The Mugen header is actually pretty good. It's more for higher tuned engines, however...not for the I/H/E kinda thing. More for the engine with some Toda internals. It's debatable whether the Mugen is better than Spoon or JUN. If you just have to spend more than $700 for a header, look at the SMS and Hytech headers.

delsolguy, by DC Sport JDM ITR Header are you talking about the Stainless Steel 4-1? What is the difference between the Ceramic Coated and the Stainless Steel? Is there any performance differences between the two? I'm looking for a header that will give me more power at lower rpm than at higher rpm.:smoker2:

Considering you'r gonna make most of your power in the high end, you'd be wasting your $$$ to improve your low end drastically. The B16a is a high revving engine, and NEEDS to be run up ti high RPMs to make some serious HP. If you really want to get your $$$ worth, get the DC 4-1 Stainless (stainless is MUCH more durable than ceramic).....I would definitely go 4-1 instead of 4-2-1....... no point trying to improve the low end when it makes all its power high....

Stainless lasts longer and looks better. And yes, this is the header I'm talking about:
