Is this a bad dealer experience?
I really don't know if this is a "bad" experience because it has it's ups and downs.
I bought a 2002 Firebird. Fully loaded. Chrome wheels. The works. It was listed at $26,500. I ended up paying $22,100. I was always to never buy a car, unless you got $3,000 off the suggested price, and to never pay $500 over invoice. Which I got both, and I only payed like 50 bucks over invoice. Plus I got an awesome APR for my loan. So i'm extremely happy with the price I paid on my car. But the customer service is horrible with GM. And here is why I think. First of all, i'm only 20. So I think they see some "kid" with a fast car and automatically thinks i'm a jerk or whatever. Ya know the typical stereotypes. So they don't want to service my car or treat me, they way I think I should be treated. (i use to work in customer service, I know how to treat someone). If I get a great price on a car, but bad customer service, should I buy from that dealer again? I say no, but I always think in the back of my head "it would be nice to have that extra cash in my pocket." But then i'm all the time pissed at them when something doesn't go my way. Am I too picky? |

Were you having it serviced? If so, I would probably buy from the dealership again, but take it somewhere else to be serviced, if at all possable. That is just my thought.

Remember that the dealership is seperate from GM. Another GM dealer should be very happy to see you.
If you are really pissed, tell GM. They hate it when an idiotic dealer tarnishes the buyers image of the GM product. |

Back in my GM mechanic days, more than one GM dealer had their dealer priveleges pulled. Ususally the dealer does not close, just chamges names and or ownership and management. GM doea not actually close a dealer as it makes for a hole in their distribution and retail network. Think things through before giving me an attitude, okay? |

Re: Is this a bad dealer experience?
Hey dude relax. I was definently being sacastic. All I am saying is that ANY company would not like it if a "sub-company" was taking away from the head companie's name. Sometimes it's just someone having a bad day, it's not the whole dealer's fault. I am not giving any attitude here, I am just saying what i think. You don't have to agree

What I recommend
Contact the Service Dept. Manager first, and complain about the treatment you've received. If that doesn't help, then contact the General Manager of the dealership and they owner.
The most common reasons most people still have bad experiences of any kind with dealers, is they are too afraid, or not sure, that going back to complain would work. They don't feel appreciated. Sometimes dealerships need feed back to improve. If all that doesn't help, find another dealer in your area better business bureau
