Unhappy UH OH!!!, 4 low gets BAD grinding

shifing into to 4 low while slowly rolling and get bad grinding niose, scary, differential shot? do i really need to fix 4 low? any harm in leaving it,

Stop, put the tranny in N then shift into 4low. You can't do it while moving or while in a drive gear.

Thanks, i did that, but when i start moving, GRINDING occurs, bad, do i guess the diff is shot?

Cool Thanks, I'll go to the Stealer and ask

them what they think, or get an indepentant to look at it. its prob not cheap, but im sure not as much as my bimmer.

Check the chain in the tranfer case, I just had to have mine replaced for the same noise and it was the chain had blown apart and took out the case.
BTW only had the jeep 1 1\2 weeks @ 59,000. bought from dealer w/ extended warranty.. Thank God.. New case in $1700.00 price range from jeep dealer.
