What a stupid poll. What does if you like your Neon or not have anything to do with if you think Japanese or American cars look better.
 And gee you don't think posting this in a Neon forum is gonna get a biased opinion, do you? Are you really getting your panties this much into a wad because I quoted a few facts that make Neons look unreliable?

Why does it matter what country a car was made in? Can't you just like a car for how that specific car looks, engine specs, handling, and all that junk? Oh, and by the way, I'm not positive what you were talking about with the facts you gave about the neon's bad reliability, ldelaysionl, and I don't know if you ever owned a neon yourself (which I hope you have, b/c it would be absolutely ignorant to badmouth a car's reliability w/o experience of your own), but reputations are rarely deserved, anyway. I haven't had any serious problems with mine, not to the point that I'd never own a neon again. Usually, the only people that trash talk any "lesser" cars are the ones that liked the car when they owned it, until they could afford a "good" car, like an impreza.

Totally agree, I never trash talk another car unless Ive owed one, or have had a buddy who has owned one and has bad experiences with it. I own a neon and its been nothing but good to me, and its running strong at 210,000k.

is that picture your car? is that an R/T, or a neon w/ stripes? it doesn't have R/T rims, I don't think. Anyway, my R/T (black w/ silver stripes) looks better than most stock civics and integras, especially that nasty forest green one, my friend has one, but thats another story...

The only thing that should matter is that you like your car and that you are happy with it, whether it's American, Japanese, or European. ALL makes of cars in ALL price ranges have their lemons, some are more problematic than others and EVERY car has its pro's and con's. I've driven (and owned) my Neon for almost 7 years now. I like it. It's my first brand new car, and the first car that I have gotten to customize and fix up the way I like. Mine is probably more problematic than other people's who post in here. Every week it's something. Is it unreliable? Not really, most of it is stupid shit like a busted sensor or a leak that needs to be fixed. Most of which me or my husband or friends can fix and keep it out of the shop. I like to think that mine is "speshul" in it's own retarded sort of way, but it's my car and no one else has to like it if they don;t want. Would I rather have a better car? Certainly, however, I enjoy not having car payments and putting that money toward a home improvement project or doing something nice with it. I get crap from import drivers on occasion but who cares? I don't put my identity or security into a car, nor do I base a person's success by the kind of car they drive. A car is a car, a heap of metal and plastic rolling on rubber. And as long as what I have keeps running, I am happy with that

I love the way the new 03' Neons look too. They got rid of that front bumper and it looks like it's all grill. Some people say the car looks crosseyed because of those headlights but I think it just looks pissed!! I'd get one too but Katwoman is right car payments suck up the yang just something else to hold me back. I'd rather invest my money on upgrades and making my ole 2000 new. It's a fun project. And like you too Katwoman this is my first new car and I have a certain sentiment for it.

It shouldn't matter what make or model car you have. What matters is if your happy with what you have and you are doing. So what if some people have cheap cars, maby they can't afford a nice one and are happy with what they have and thats all that should matter. I have had 2 neons for 9 years now and got both of them new and both are still running strong, one at 105,000 and the other one at 35,000.

  The Dodge Neon an American car  Sorry, the Dodge Neon is made in Toluca, Mexico  I am not putting it down, I own one and yes I am happy with it. But dont go and buy Chrysler thinking your getting a American car Sure, parts of them are put togather in there IL. plant but thats a far cry from being 100% an American car IMO
