when you say trickling out it worries me, an FI fuel system should be pretty high pressure, it could be that there is a blockage somewhere or the pump is messed.

1.61 eh? where are you from?

it's prob your main relay, turn the key 2 clicks and you should hear the fuel pump prime. you could check FP but i would just listen for the pump which should be in the rear ds fender area.

or fuel pump, coil/wires, fuses and such..

also, check the ecu for codes flashing or the pgmfi light to stay on

grrr

i checked all the fuses inside the car.. all sweet.
umm all the dash lights go off. i can hear a psss sound when i turn on key but its coming from under the bonnet not near the back of the car (I gather that is where the pump is located.) how do i access the pump had a look in boot but couldnt see the little hatch that the pump is usually under(other brand cars) is there a fuel pump relay? where is the little bugger hiding?
im in new zealand but help is great from any where

NZ eh, good stuff. you ought to get me 1 or 2 little things next time your at the salvage yard. i'd make it worth your while!! [email protected]

on the problem, the fuel pump is where you said, it's under the car in ft of the drivers rear tire well. you have a FP relay it should be located under the dash. look behind the fuse box then up behind the dash. there should be a cluster of relays one of which should say main and have a 10 pin connector

here the link http://www.markl.f9.co.uk/howto/elec...main-relay.htm

ill have a look now a fuel pump. is it saposed to be pumping full time once the key is on or only when the car is running?

hey mike where do you live?? and what are you after?
they seem to be a pound a penny over here so shouldnt be too hard to find any thing you are after..

ok, the pump is under the car near the drivers side rear wheel. you'll see a flimsy black box that covers the pump (under rear footwell). get in there and check the pump for continuity. if it's ok, then have a friend turn the key forward and back a few times to make sure your getting 12V to the pump.

btw, when you turn the key on you should hear the pump prime for 2 seconds at the same time the car chimes twice for the seat belts.

if all this check's out and the fuel filter is not cloged then i would next test the the fuel pressure regulator. see if you can get your hands on a fuel pressure gauge, it screws right down in the extra nut on top of the fuel filter. again, check all fuses with a ohm meter... they can look ok, but..

keep me posted on the problem, you can also email me directly if ya want! i'm in NE USA (charleston, WV 25303) we'll see if i solve your problem before i get a reward! lol 2 small things prob really cheap, i'll gladly pay double plus shipping. if and when

do you have the online factory service manual? it's kinda hard to use but it's info. if not i'll dig up the link!

well i got the fuel pump going, joy on that front, still not going though,
there is current going to the plugs(i cant get plugs as i dont have right size socket) but i did put on my clamp on ammeter and there is current getting there.. so im presuming they are a go.. plugs are resonably new.
i took apart the distributor and gave all the termals a bit of a sand,
i was thinking mabee a capacitor in the dizy( but cant find it) is it part of the computor management system??
any ideas would be great,, ( remind me never to buy a car wif fuel injection) ( ill stick with my smelly old carbed soobie)
