I heard that we will be seeing about 260 hp. (from southeast regional rep), but I wouldn't bet the farm on that number. He did say that they wanted to beat Subaru's HP number and they knw the STI will be coming soon too.

You all should worry more if you will even get the Evo VII not how much HP it will have. You can always get more HP put back in with slight mods.

For the people that actually have the money....we would like to know. I am going to buy one as soon as it hits shores. 260hp i can deal with as well...if they go lower...its going to piss me off. The only reason they're bringing this over is so that they can start a US rally war. Sub vs Mitsu. My roommate has a WRX and already in a small town like i live in i've seen about six out of a pop. of 38.000. I want something new, not the same shit under a different hood.

I hope to god they don't detune it.
I mean, the evo is supposed to be a highly tuned super sedan, knocking off power is like undoing all the work mitsubishi did to make it were it is.

Even if they do detune it...it's not hard for someone to knock the HP back up. Remember all....the STi is coming over here too next year. Like i said before with the Evo VII vs WRX STi, it's going to be a close call...but i'm still going to go with the Evo because of the looks and the NEWNESS of it all. A lot of people already own WRX's and more then likely won't dump the WRX for the STi anytime soon. It's going to be a tough year.
