Temp. controls backlighting

I have a '91 Maxima and the backlighting for the temperature controls is dead. What is involved in replacing these bulbs? I took the center of the dash off, but it looks like a I have to disassemble the whole thing to get the control unit out. Also, where can I get a replacement for the little led which is below the temp. controls, the one with the plastic lens block over it?

Thanks.

I've got a '93. My temp. slide was stuck in the heat position during the summer. Nissan quoted me something ridiculous like $300+ to fix it. My advice would be to call around to junkyards and just install a whole new heat control unit. It cost me $40 and took a half hour to install. I think taking the temp control unit apart might be too much of a headache. You could always try though and replace the whole thing junkyard style like I did if it doesn't work out.

Peace out
