Hello from a newbie...

Hi guys,

I've just moved to New York from England.
I'm a petrol head and ever since I read an article in a car magazine back in the England about 8 years ago I knew I wanted to own a gen1 camaro at some point in my life.

So does anyone know any garages around New York where I can go and look over some camaros?

Also -how much should I be looking to spend? (I want a solid, reliable model but I'm not that bothered about it being too original - as long as it's got a V8!)

thanks in advance for all your help.

Re: Hello from a newbie...

well, I don't live in NY, but you should be able to get a plain jane 327 car for 2-6000 easy, depending on condition. above 3500 it better be rust free and have a decent interior. I got my 67 rs for 2000, but I had to drive to OK from NC to get it. and it was about 40% restored. doors forward rust free, doors back rust heap. the rs usually brings more money convertable is the most sought after, so expect it to be over 4K with rust and bad top. enjoy the car when you find it. I will (when I get it running!)

Thanks for the info- I've had a quick browse of some for sale web sites and not spotted anything that cheap where's a good place to look?

I'm after a coupe - I prefer the look compared to a convertible.
