quick question concering a F150...

http://dons.usfca.edu/tmcline/truckpic.jpg here is the pick...

its a 1993 Ford F150 Lightning (as i am told) and the rear differentail is shot... how much do you guys think it would be for parts and labor?

My Friend is getting it for 4500 and its lifted and such and supposibly in good condition... he's hopin it won't be more than 1k to replace... ITs got a 456 gear ratio (which he is told isn't stock). Any help would be very much appreciated.
