bad fuel pump??

2002 Cavalier will crank but not start. Was a little sluggish previous couple of mornings. Replaced fuel filter, which didn't solve problem. Removed fuel line from pump side (before it goes into filter) and turned ignition switch. I can hear pump motor, but no fuel is coming from line that I removed. Could this still be a bad fuel pump? I have read several threads on here about fuel pump problems on Cavaliers. Also, it seems that around $210 is least expensive pump I can find online. Local parts stores such as Autozone do not carry fuel pump for this model Cavalier. Does this price sound accurate?

Thanks,
Mike

Re: bad fuel pump??

This may sound silly and you may have already done this but make sure your car isn't out of gas. I had a problem just like yours and it turned out that my gas gauge wasn't reading properly and I was out of gas.
