Ya but they're probably good subs so they can take it. I'm broke right now and i would probably be getting cheap ones for now. but what would u suggest for someone that wants an amp and sub who has about 150 to $200?

i would reccomend that you either look around on ebay, but for that cheap i would recomend you buy one sub of semi-good quality rather than two crappy ones. for about 85$ you can get one of elemental designs more affordable models.
http://www.edesignaudio.com/ep2/12kx.htm elemental designs is one of the best manufactuer's of subs out there.i take back the "semi-good comment", they're probly the best. but its a cheaper model. and i would recommend this amp for the sub, its a great deal and is perfect for the sub. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=39744 i really must warn you, that you should stay away from all of the cheap brands like legacy, pyramid, etc.... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. and even though these elemental design subs are cheap they are somehow amung the top 3. |

Re: Amp and Subs
Would a MTX sub take the extra power.

Re: Amp and Subs
It would probably take a little bit more power, but over powering a sub is useless. You won't gain but maybe a db or two and all you'll do and I quote from adire is slam the suspension and cook the driver. Turn the gains down or get a matching amp don't over power a driver it's the best way to blow it. Now if your talkin JL, Adire, RE then maybe it would be ok but not with any mainstream brands. As far as MTX... I haven't heard much of their new products but I had some truck boxes of my dads and they were rated for 150... They distorted badly at that 150. Go with the ED sub as suggested and a profile amp to match it...they seem to be a very good price for a great product.

Re: Amp and Subs
depends on the line of the MTX sub. Some will take power better than the other.
