Thought this looked like a neat piece of McLaren history that others might be interested in. I'd like to own it, but again I'm saving for more important things in life. The price it is currently at seems reasonable.

It could have come from a journalist from the motoring press as well. They receive invitations for events like that all the time.

true...but there couldnt have been that many people invited to the launch. so how many people in the world recieved one of these? couple thousand maybe? how many of them actually saved the invitation?

an item like this seems like something that only a handful of the McLaren fans out there would have possesion of...

I would bet they sent just a few hundred, if that many. I'd assume that most were lost forever - I doubt many people would ever have expected something like that to become a collectible. I know I wouldn't have thrown mine away though.
