The motor itelf won't fit in, I think the Cima is RWD, and the plumbing for everything won't fit in a max, it's like trying to put a VG30det in, won't fit, manifold etc gets in the way...

With enough money, anything will fit.

It's been attempted before, but not a straight swap.

So the engine is comparable to the Vq35 in the G35 coupe and or 350Z.

vq35de has a way smoother and broader powerband, which makes for a lot more fun and easier to drive/shift, too

I don't like the 'drive-by-wire' throttle in the VQ35. Its not as responsive as teh VQ30

Granted that this is all purely hypothetical, I would much rather have the 30DET than the 3.5. The DET is already boosted and has stronger, more boost-friendly internals that the 3.5. You have to figure that from the start the DET is putting down 25 more hp and it is going to have much more modding potential than the 3.5.

Back to reality....and my VQ30DE

more modding potential??? the vq35de has a hp peak rating of somewhere around 550 hp, whereas the 3.0 is under 500. plus, slap a turbo on a 3.5, get a new ecu, and you're looking at an easy 350-400 hp. plus, like i said before, the powerband of the vq30de is choppy and jerky compared to the vq35de, which smoothly builds power all of the way through the revs, whereas the 3.0 starts to lose a LOT of power in the upper rpm's
