Cool PROBLEM SOLVED- with overheating grand am

my car was overheating and no heat...... then it was overheating with heat.... everyone suggested bleeding the system cause there was air in it......sure what ever..right ... but it`s true.... I tried bleeding the air out and then it would only over heat when driving slow and would cool down when accelerating.....so what i did was unhook both heater hoses and the big line from the resivor and had someone hold a gardenhose to the big hose from the resivor and run water into the system while i blocked the lower line from the water pump and then blocked the other for awhile..you would be amazed at the bubbling sound as all the air came out....while still running water throught the system, hook up the lower heater hose first and then rehook the upper hose and turn the water off..... It`s solved my problem and made me very happy.... who would think just a little bit of air in a system would cause so many people trouble.... ps... hope this helps you .... I work on my system for over a week with flushing and thermestat changing ,,it was driving me nuts... all over a little bit of stupid air..... happy trails
