Orange 280Z 512hp

There was an article about an orange 280Z with 512hp in a magazine. I ahve been scouring my collection for days now trying to find it. And I have turned up nothing

does anyone know of the article I am talking about? Please help me. I think the guy that has it is in Japan but that kinda figures anyway. I was wondering what he did to get so much power case I would love to follow humbly in his footsteps.

i cant say i remember seeing that article, but if you want to get more than 400 hp out of a 280z, your gonna need a turbo. i sit right about 400 without a turbo but running 17:1 compression and burning ethyl methyl alcohol. to get much more, you would need forced induction. the best way to get that much out of a 2.8 litre engine is to give it the honda treatment. engine swap, turbo, nos, electronic ignition, multiport fuel injection. you might even think about J-spec transplantation. an rb30dett out of an r34 v-spec skyline is a reletively simple transplant compared with a v-8 or v-6. its an inline and about the same size, and the six-speed tranny will mount to the z u-joint. i say, keep it stock or go full race, there is no middle ground.

it probably had a RB30 in it. I remember it was in japan and eveyone was awed by it and it was a tuner I think. One bad ass car. I would love to drop a RB30 into a Z.
