Making a Yukon fast.

You probably are like, wtf, a yukon fast. Well, I want to do it for a sleeper.

Well, let me start off by describing my vehicle. I have a 1999 GMC Yukon 4dr 4wd. I want to make it a beast. I have a K&N FIPK GenII intake and a Stainless Steel Magnaflow cat-back exhaust. It also rides on a nice set of 20 inch Boss 301's. It runs a 16.91 in the quarter at my local drag strip, I know kinda slow. For now.

I am going to get JBA headers and a 160 thermostat. My question is in regards to supercharging it.

Right now, I am deciding between ATI Procharger and Whipple. My goal is to run high fourteen second quarter miles. Has anyone seen the whipple on a truck or suv similar to mine and run the times I have in mind? And are the power gains that whipple claims substantiated?

Thanks fellow enthusiasts.

Why not just get this kit? It'll set you back a cool 60 grand but you'll have your sleeper. And quite the sleeper at that....

well first get rid of those 20 inch 5 million pound wheels and get some lightweight forged ones. I think they make some 19 inch oz superlegeraII, those would be a good bet

second twin turbo the sucker and then upgrade the brakes so you can actually stop the car

First of all, you should already have upgraded the brakes in addition to the DUBS...

And secondly, www.ls1tech.com has a pretty good truck forum.

I've seen a video of a whipple supercharged 1500 silverado pull a bolt on'ed 5.0 pretty damn hard from a roll...

Should be a cool project! And sounds like you have the money too! haha

Thanks for your replies.

I really enjoyed the lingenfelter package, WOW. And I appreciate all of your replies. Yeah, I do need to upgrade the brakes, just thinking about upgrading the front ones though.

front ones is usually enogh since over 80% of braking is done upfront...just make sure you get a kit specifically tuned for your car otherwise it might get unbalanced

Or get one of them parachutes.. they seem to work well... If it's too expensive.. just have the passengers take off their shirts and stick them out the window to act as parachutes.... Just like on Otto's(spelling?) bus in The Simpsons.. hehehe

NO NO NO....that is so amateurish.....what you do is open the door and stck your foot out to brake.....this way you can modulate the braking power....btw i higly recomend those brembo timberland models.......
