Exclamation need some info fast

i know this is a really stupid question and im sure it's been addressed before, but i've got a '97 Z28 and i need the standing 1/4 time from someone who's actually done it. I've got a guy who swares by his brand new EVOVIII and he wants to race and he also wants to put up pinks. now i know that it's a dumb question and i should just slaughter him but im not about to lose my car. i know the EVO runs low 14's @ 100mph if you're lucky. the last i had heard is that mine will do mid 12's at over 100mph..... my car is bone stock right now so im just lookin for some real times to more less boost my confidence in believing im not gonna lose my camaro to some ricer piece of shit. thanks in advance for any help

You stock LT1 will do the 1/4 in the low 14's, high 13's depending on your driving abilities. It will be a close race, but there shouldn't be any slaughtering by either side...

It depends on the driver. But Assuming that the EVO is an All wheel drive I don't think you will. he WILL get you out of the hole. and that will be it because he will not have the horsepower to gain on you and you won't have it to start to pull on him. The two are pretty matched up. Why race for pink slips. Thats kinda stupid don't you think??? If you guys wanna run for something throw some money down. Also .who told you that your car would run mis 12's stock??? Whoever did don't listen to anything elese he has to say. no stock LT1 camaro Z28 ran a 12. you whould be lucky to get a 13.3.

Later

Andy

If he's wanting to race for slips, something is not right. It doesn't take much to make an EVO run loads quicker than it does stock. Like was said, put money on it, or just run for fun, but no slips.

If you want to give your car to someone, just give it away to me. I'm looking for a Z to get for my girlfriend, and that would work nicely for me...

Sure would, she's had an 82 Berlinetta several years ago, but had to get rid of it. Think what finding a V8 F-body would do for me

Re: need some info fast

yeah dude, whatever you do, unless you have more money than sense and can afford another one, leave the slip racing to the big fish, race for money, and when you win, put it into your car. cuz like everyone has been saying, if someone walks up to a Z, and wants to race for slips, rather than money, hes a shark, and his car is probly a sleeper. probly tricks lots of poor saps out of their car and sells them for cash. which means, in theory, he has put a wholllllleee heluva lot of money into that evo. my sugestion, walk away, hes bad news.
