DJS, Thanks a lot buddy, you were right on the money. Daughters GXE failed to start in driveway. 102K and no service other than oil change every 3K. Replaced burnt out plugs, cap, rotor, AF, FF, still would not start. Did fuel pump test, failed hold pressure, replaced fuel pump, passed test, still no start but 0101 and 0201 codes, replaced distributor, checked all the other sensors, still no start, but all codes cleared 0505.Smelled like it might be flooding and some smell of fuel on crankcase oil. (I was about ready to punt at this point) Started searching the net for similar circumstances and ran across your post to GXE no start at two places. For three bucks i figure why not; the old one still checked but was not free floating on check like a new PCV valve so i put in the replacement, turned it over with the plugs out a couple of times, torched the fuel off the plugs, and bingo fired up first crank. (four weekends later)
Anyway, Thanks I owe you one.
I have not used the forum before so I hope you get to see this if not it might help someone else. Book says to change PCV every 30K I will be doing it more often in the future!!!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to a nice simple brake job.
If anyone knows DJS or how to forward direct to him/her? please help this message reach him.
