I suspect it's in the same place as my 1990.. Remove the left side (front, of course) turn signal light. Behind it is an AC fitting ... disconnect it. The orifice tube is right there. My father-in-law and I went *silly* looking for it too. Make sure you put the new tube in the same way as the old one - it's easy to install backwards. You should probably put new O-Rings on. Also make sure to replace the dryer each time you have the system "open". Good luck. -Steve |

what do you think about the dryer in my situation
yep, I found it. It was in the condenser where the liguid line comes out of it.
Now about that accumulator(dryer) I just bought a new one with a compressor and had it installed. I got my truck back and my A/C worked for a day before all the 134a leaked out. So I take it upon myself to fix it the right way this time. But anyways I took the dryer off and capped it off so it should be alright to reinstall do you think? |

I'd run through every fitting and put new O-rings on (including the manifold to the compressor) and charge it up again - this time with some dye. Good luck! -Steve |

Re: A/C Orifice Tube location?
Orfice tubes on all autos&trucks are located in the "ambient" refrigerant liquid side, between the condensor and the accumulator typically next to a fitting or joint.
Now getting to it could be a differant story. |

Re: A/C Orifice Tube location?
I have a 94 Suburban 350 with dual air. My orifice tube was on the middle of a line running directly under the battery. I removed the passenger blinker cover and disconnected the line there, but could not see the orifice tube. I then followed that same line back toward the firewall, and directly underneath the battery is a connection and inside was the old nasty orifice tube. Good luck.
