Front end question

I have a 95 Montero LS that has been a great car thus far. 96K and never a problem (kiss of death). I recently started hearing a kind of clicking/knocking sound on the left front side. This happens mostly when turning (either way) but will also happen occasionally when making a transition from stopped to moving. My first thoughts were the CV joints. I had them inspected and two separate shops told me they were fine. One mechanic said he could throw parts at it but was not sure without really tearing it down as to what the problem was. I'm no mechanic so I'm looking for advice. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

BTW - my email is [email protected]
