Lightbulb RB25DET in an s13 C's

Hi all... Im new so feel free to correct me in any way. I want to build a 240sx (C's 91-94) with a RB25DET motor. Ive done research on this swap and Ive heard that its a direct bolt in no problems and other places say that the sway bar gets in the way when using the RB cross member (can sway bars be custom made?). But Im looking for adive/good ideas. So far this is what I want to do: RB motor, Tein flex dampers and coils, Pivot headlight controller, twin projector head lamps (lots of talk on these... more on another post), a good set of race seats and 5 point harnesses (which brand?), roll cage w/ removable door bars, short throw shift, INGs rear bumper, new exaust, JDM kouki side skirts, Kouki tail lamps, possible a kouki front bumper, painted CF hood, steering wheel (NISMO mabey), NEW ECU (AEM or Motec or other), normal engine mods (ignition, intake, cooling... all the regulars) and mabey a little shot of NO2. Im looking for input even if its "DUMB IDEA" or even "GREAT IDEA". Fire away

i have no clue either. and after you tell us that, you can tell us what you will be using the car for. i'm guessing you're about 16 and into street racing by your list of good mods, ending with "a shot of n20."

correct me if i'm wrong.

chuki (91-94 240sx's) i might have that wrong though... seen it with a Q before... LOL... im trying so hard to make it seem like i know what im talking about... but as a matter of fact I have only been studying up for 2 months or so making sure I want to take on a project like this. Wanted to when I rode in a 350hp (crank) s13. That thing blew my mind (as well as a couple of transmissions) it was fast... it could handle... and the drive could drift to an extent. That day got me hooked on Drifting/240s... I dont think I will ever get into drifting but I sure hope I build this car.

Your partly right... Im 18... Racing yes, but on the street, probably not... But a guy can have dreams right? Anyways Nitrous can be a good thing alot of times... dont get me wrong... Im not one of those fast and furious "I need some NOS" guys. At first I wanted to buy a fox body mustang but I didnt like the looks as much. Im just putting my ideas out for criticism... for good input. And lastly Im a very bad speller (hey you cant blame me... GA schools are 50th in the US LOL)

haha alright i was just givin you a hard time. thank you for not getting a FOX body. anyway, if you wanna drag race in a 240, the easiest route would probably be a KA-T(turbo your stock motor). the rb25 and sr20 would also make good drag motors cause, well they're awesome, but they are a little more of a pain in the ass to get a drag-only purpose going well.

Just turbo the current engine (if compression is good). Forget bumpers, skirts, etc and worry about tires, wheels, differential and clutch. These are the essentials of a good drag setup. For drag you wont need teins or seats or special lights.

BTW - In japan, the silvias have designations "k", "q" and "j" for King, Queen, and Jack respectively. The king is the turbo version, the queen has the SR20DE, and the Jack has the same engine as the queen except for some reason its a lot cheaper (a lot less options or something). 240sx's only have base, SE, and LE designations and they refer to options on the car. The k, q and j designations have nothing to do with the model year.

Just a little lesson in JDM

The thing is Im not wanting to build a "drag" car. I want something that does everything well. I want to build somthing that drives like its on rails, looks good, and yes drag some but thats not its main purpose. As far as rims and tires I know falken is a good brand but anyone recomend anything else? And as far as rims go Im a 5 spoke kinda guy and Nismo wheels look nice but cost so much to get.

I can tell you one car can't do every thing, one if you want it to look good and have speakers and all that, that would'nt be ideal for racing, yeah you can look good, but if you want to perform well in area do it ALL in are, you goin for show make it the flashiest shiny little ricer. If you want to go racing, thats what I am about, make it stripped down screamin machine, if you really are serious about racing your car would only be legal for road unless you meet all those restrictions, screw Falken, good sporting tires for fartin around town, Hoosier! I am buildin one too!!

i disagree. i think you can make a car that looks good, goes fast, and handles well. although, it won't do any of those things as well as a car built to do just one.

falken azenis are probly the best budget grip tire, but they are not the best. SCC says the Toyo RA-1 are the best street legal grip tire that is made in 17" diameter.

Whats Wrong With N20? Its A Great Way To Spool A Large Turbo And It Also Helps When You Are Behind And Need A Quick Pick Me Up! When I Complete The Rb30 Project That Just Got Pushed Back It Will Have A Dual Nitrous System.... One That Is Always On But Shuts Off Ater Turbo Spool And The Other Is There For Those Losing Situations And Will Be Activated By The Push Of A Button.

Nitrous isn't rice. it's just gotten bad publicity and is praised in a Deity-like way by ricers world-wide. doesn't mean it's not a proven way to help...although i personally don't plan to install it on my car.

that is the gayest thing i have ever heard of, for surely a copy of Fast and Furious eclipse type shit LMFAO. And a great way to blow a rb25 using nitrous all the time. Plus you won't have any traction, I don't think a lot of people here have actually driven high hp cars, you don't get any traction at all by having a lot of HP on the low end. hell i can jab the throttle on my parents minivan and make it smoke tires, makes it slower to accelerate as well. My brothers impala u give it about 10% throttle off the line and it will smoke the tires. If you ran nitrous on that from the start you would not go anywhere and have a good hobby of pleasing the tire salesman. a stock KA will smoke the tires if you want to, you defintely don't need nitrous to get a car going, the bad thing about nitrous is everyone wants to use it the wrong way, thats why people look down on it.
