Yes I'm sure but I too have seen that 220hp jdm h22 your talking about. There is two h22's I think. One of the jdm's has 200hp and the other has 220hp. That jdm h22 you've seen probably has a higher compression ratio than the one I just posted but that is facts what I just posted above. I got them off a website that sells just jdm engines.

Re: Re: Re: jdm or usdm h22, help!!!!!!!!

type s/euro r has 220 hp. most likely the car you are looking at doesn't have that unless they specifically mentioned it. the regular jdm h22 is pretty much exactly like the us, a bit higher compression, so thats why it makes a little more power then the US engines.

this applies to e also as I am looking for a JDM H22. Where did you get yours from??

Also, I have always seen websites state that the JDM H22 is 200hp ...so the prelude sir has 220hp ....whats the difference between the two engines apart from power? I hve never seen the SiR prelude engine for sale anywhere on the net.

DO you know any websites that sell it blu civic??

Re: jdm or usdm h22, help!!!!!!!!

I got my jdm b18c from hondamotorsonline.com but last time I checked the website was offline but I was very satisfied with quality of engine and shipping time, the only thing is I got a canadian tranny not jdm, but turned out to be better cause it has longer gears = better gas mileage on the highway.

To tell whether it is a true JDM h22, it will be stamped with just h22a. If it is a usdm, it will be h22a1 or h22a2. Either way, it will have a number after the letter a. The JDM block doesn't have this number. Also, if you'd like to know what year the engine is, look at the head itself. You'll see 3 circles with numbers and arrows in them just between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd exhaust ports. The middle circle will have 2 numbers. The first will be a 9 and the second will be whatever. For instance, mine says 9|2. That means 1992. it also shows the month it was made. Everyone else is correct as far as hp numbers.

MJline99, as far as I know, the tranny and mounts will not work. From what I understand though, some years of hatches with h22's use gsr axles, unfortunately, I don't know which. Ecu's and harnesses, your guess is as good as mine, but I could find out if you really need it.

Re: jdm or usdm h22, help!!!!!!!!

some other forums have been saying that its not a good idea to turbo a h22 engine becuase it mostly results in a blown engine. another thing what do u think would be the best engine in a 98 civic for easy installation(compatible parts like tranny),cheap and best results.

You can turbo the h22. It's all about tuning and how you build it. The b16 is probably your best choice.
