Has any one replaced there head gaskets or knows some tips on how to do it also does anyone know the torque specks and sequence for the heads and intake. This is a pushrod engine correct so i do not have to mess with the timing belt but i will need to re adjust the rocker arms. oh yeh this is a 1995 lumina 3.1lL it is my sisters car and just had a new trans put in it so my sister does not want to pay alot to have it doen at a shop if i can do it for her.

Just did what you are asking on a 1996 Lumina. Go get a Haynes for the torque specs and pattern. You will need a good torque angle tool also. Took me better part of Sunday afternoon just to do the heads. The rockers are non-adjustable so that's not a problem.

Actually, 1995 3.1L V6 Lumina still uses adjustable lifters; 1995 3.4L V6 & 1996 and newer has a roller cam / lifters that aren't adjustable. I know, I just finished an intake gasket replacement on mine (1995 w/3.1). You have to remove six pushrods (3 on each side) to get the gasket off / on. The gasket kind of "weaves" around the pushrods on each side.
