Exclamation Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay I'm gunn be getting this 92' Geo Storm GSi, and I have just about replaced, or rerun wires to get this car started, my buddies, and I have boiled the problem down to one last thing, the injectors. well they aren't plugged, cause the chances of that being it, is like slim to none. and I herd that the storms have this anit thef thing on them that when the car hasn't run for a length of time , that you can't start it. well its been sitting for oh... a good 3 months. and we poor gags in teh intake, and it'll fire, adn ru till that gas is gone. and the pump works fine, everything. but we just don't know how to get the injectors to fire. I don't know if the fuel pump has to give feed back to the ECM or what?? if it has ot give ANY feed back, caus eI re wired it directly to the battry cause the wires that were there were bad. but I dunno if it needs to give feed back?? so if anyone can give me some help on this that woudl be awesome!!

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey I'm having that problem now did you resolve yours? What was it? I have been told there is a cam sensor thsat regulates the injectors I'm posting a similar question on all forums I can to see if I can get an idea myself please email me [email protected] if you found the answer.I believe it's going to end in the sensor. Thanks CLB

Thats a mystery, w\ this rewiring you are talking about, thats always abit of a problem, especially if you arent sure of all the wires/fuses and things that are along that line... It could be something simple, such as restricted fuel line(s), what about contaminated fuel ?
Are you sure the fuel pump works fine ?
What condition is the fuel filter in ?
You says its been sitting for 3 months, this is to assume it was running before this time, if so, how well ?
I'm concerned about the rewiring you've done, I'd want to check everything out that I could before doing some kind of rewiring to make the car run...

The injectors are controlled by the computer and the computer adjusts the fuel it delivers through the injectors based on input from various sensors... If one or more of these are not working, its possible that the computer will not send a signal or sufficient signal to the injectors to activate them to the point of engine run.

Even if the injectors are pulsed, if the IAC is closed and the throttle valve is closed, the engine cant get air and wont start, I know, you proly opened the throttle by hand or accel pedal when trying to crank it over anyways ...

I dont know of any anti-theft device on the Storm to keep it from starting, that would tend to be a starter kill switch or in many of the ignition keys of later model cars, mftrs put a special secuirty chip in it, so if that key is not inserted the car wont start ...

You can also try putting a stethoscope or long screwdriver on the injectors themselves while cranking the engine, to listen or feel the injectors pulsing, otherwise you should be able to use a test light in the end of the injector connectors to be sure power is being supplied to them..

Other than that, I cant suggest much more, I'm not a certified mech/tech, but if I was nearby I'd be willing to help however I could.I hope you guys can find the remedy to your problem, I'm still looking for my own : \
