Question Auto ZC?

I plan on swapping out my dieing motor as soon as i get the cash and since i'm not gonna be racing i am just gonna put in a ZC. Can i keep the automatic? Also, for anyone who has ordered a ZC what site would you recomend and what all do I need for the swap?

***It wouldn't let me search for ZC***

Re: Auto ZC?

Yes, you can keep your car an auto, and the zc will bolt up fine.

www.nippon-motors.com is who I go through.

Re: Auto ZC?

Assuming you have an EX, then yes. If not, you will need to convert to MPFI, and track down either an auto EX ecu, or auto 88/89 teg ecu.

Get the engine and THE RIGHT ECU. Get the auto ZC ECU.

Here's some pics of mine when it was auto and ZC powered.

you are correct as the DOHC ZC intake manifold bolt pattern is one of a kind. Also, you can use an auto 88-89 teg ecu, and dont forget that you'll need a torque converter (im not up to speed on autos; i dont know if your stock one will work)

It is if you really want to upgrade your motor, and get the dohc ZC, which is what I am sure he is planning on doing.

first off thats not an option in every state ... remember california is anal about cars and emisions ... its not legal in the states to do a dock swap.

now then ... to review he said he wasnt racing but instead a daily driver type car. now granted the dohc is a "stronger" engine the sohc is closer to stock for gas milage and requires nothing but engine swap and go.

someone mentioned torque converter for the car ... now i dont know if you mentioned that with the dock or the sock in mind but mine went in with out any other part but the engine so the sock doesnt require anything for it to work with exsisting tranny.

they made zc's auto, you can probably pick up a cheap engine/ecu/auto tranny from a zc for a decent deal cause no one really wants an auto when they swap, i talked to a guy who did that swap into his crx dx.

I wear a sock on my foot.

You postive that it is not legal to do a motor swap in the republic of california, if the motor has two cams?
