For vacuum formed windows I use thinned clear gloss paint (PollyScale to be specific). A 50/50 mix with water allows it to be drawn into the mating areas by capillary action and once dried it has a strong bond. Just allow time for drying with out moving the piece.

For bonding styrene plastic - I use Tenax-7R & cyanoacrylate (super glue) exclusively

I have used ethyl acetate for bonding styrene for years now. A bottle at pharmacists costs very little and lasts for ages and the liquid works as well as all commercial liquid styrene glues in my opinion. Other cheap alternative is MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) but I haven't used it. I've heard it's stronger but more toxic than ethyl acetate. 'Real' modeling glues usually contain these chemicals too. Both work by melting the plastic.

As always, remember the safety precautions. They are flammable solvents, so don't play with fire and take care about the ventilation.

For styrene is use regular Testors model glue in the orange tube, not that fruity smelling shit in the blue one. I use the orange tube of testors for everything and it seems to work well!
