I have an 87 or 88 Camry and I have two distint problems that have been there since day one:
- The overhead dome light won't go on when I open the doors, though it does go on when I flip the switch on it. - The light behind the heater/AC panel doesn't work, but they have come on I think twice in 5 years, both times when I went over bumps in the winter. I have the Hayes book for the car, but I can't find anything about either problem, or ever where to start looking. Neither is a crucial problem but I'd like to get one or both fixed, myself if possible. I'm reasonably handy with tools, I just don't know specifics about cars. |

Re: 87/88 Camry: Dome and heater light problems
the dome light is likely due to the door switches having deteriorated over time. This happened to me with my 87 Camry. The switches will need to be replaced (probably)

is it gonna help?
I've the same problem. Dint look thru it yet, But I've found some electrical scheme in Hayness manual. It seems to be a little wiring fun.
:-) Is it gonna help if I'll send you a copy of the scheme? Let me know PLS if you would come up with some solution PLS. |
