Question A million dollar question...

Ok, I am a freshman in college (go tarheels) and have some money saved for a car ($12k) Now my question is, how practical is the B18C swap into a integra.

Wait wait, i have some conditions for you to consider.

1: I am in college, with a job
2: I have no garage, and limited mechanical skills, as well as tools
3: The car would be kept at my home, an hour and a half away.

My question is, what are you guys opinions as to what to do. Esp those people who have done the swap. What was the cost, how long did it take? What car did you put it in, what do I need to look for when buying an integra, or the engine? What else am i gonna need besides the car and the engine and accessories (harness, ecu, axels, etc)? Any info would be appreciated.

Am i better off saving for an S2000 or RSX? After working this coming up summer, i can have 18k to put as a down payment on an RSX, S2000, Trailblazer, Supra, etc...

Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Re: A million dollar question...

why not just buy a gsr, i bet it would be cheaper than finding an rs,ls,gs teg and swapping it out. also, if you're not going to be driving that much, there's no point in getting a new ride and letting it just sit there while it depreciates in value

I like tegs, but I am trying to figure out what is a good car I can make semi fast and original. The b18C swap is so cool, and it has a lot of potential. I guess my all around question is, what car would you get? Obviously this is a teg forum so there is gonna be bias, but hey, would you guys go RSX or ITR?

i agree with GScivic7.....i say just buy a GSR and be done with it....being in college is hard enough so unless u have the money and time to do the swap....get a gsr or start savin

I personally would go with the RSX if you can afford it.

The type s has some advanced shit in it. Get it if you can. Otherwise, just get a GSR, or ITR.

Crackerballer, I know this should be a PM, but do yu have a screen name or something? I'm a freshman at UNC too, and I'm in Granville South. Also, what kind of job do you have that you can make $6,000 in a summer! I want it! Anyways, I'm glad someone else at this school is into imports. I thought I was the only one.

P.S.-Go to hell Wolfpack!

Spectre927, we will see who sucks when basketball season comes around.

Anyway, I deliver pizzas in the summer, make $6 and hour plus all tips, which can be 70-100 a night, in 6 hours. So in 3 months, $5000 ain't a problem. I can ge tthe RSX, just got a job up here at Chapel Hill

I am thinking a brand new Type-S, white or Black, and then mod the hell out of it

Oh the Trailblazer, I love, and if you see one on 22's, and have any liking for trucks, you would love it.

I would try to find a 94-95 GSR and customize it to your likeing plus the insurance will be alot cheaper on the GSR than the RSX.
