if i have intake headers and exhaust is a apexi vafc a good thing to buy next or is there some other parts i shoudl do first plz help open to all suggestions

I'm guessing this is for a b16a? I think I'd get an ignition and decent spark plug wires first (coil's not worth it on a honda IMO). Then widen your spark plug gap slightly, should net you a hp or 2, and add to the hp you get out of future mods.

With the mild mods you have now, I doubt you'd be able to make much use of a vafc yet. If you had larger injectors, a larger throttle body, over sized valves, or larger cams then it would make more sense to get one. Just my

thank you for the advice i was kinda thinking it was worth it right now ... do u think a msd sci ignition will work since it fits my budget and it seems pretty good according to its description ?? yes its for a b16 and if u could what other mods should i look at getting for baisics?? open to suggestions

I would go for a crane hi-6, accel 300+, or best yet a Mallory Hyfire VI, (not the hyfire VIA or VI-AL). I'm not a big fan of MSD, and for about the price of the msd-sci, you can get a Hyfire VI (my favorite, part #685) which has a ton more features, is digital, and claims a higher voltage to the coil. The Hyfire VI is the ignition I plan on getting when I finish my engine.

As far as mods I'd get, I'm a believer in modifying the internal engine first, then mess with the bolt-on's. Most bolt-ons are 99% show, imo.

If you go forced induction (turbo, supercharger, or nitrous kit) you can gain decent horsepower without modding internal parts. Although this is limited due to the already high compression of the b16.

It all depends on what you're into and how much you plan on spending. Some ppl are into drag racing, motorcross, car shows, or just driving fast thru the Safeway parking lot.

If you aren't interested in investing a lot of money, you might consider just getting a small nitrous kit, it's probably safe to boost a stock b16a 30hp or so. Definitely read up on nitrous first tho, a lot ppl toast their engine with nos by either using too much, using it too often, or starving the motor of fuel(takes more fuel with nitrous).

If you want to invest a lot of cash, you might consider installing stronger and lower compression internal parts and getting a turbo kit. A built turbo charged b16 is fast, and can be very reliable considering the nearly perfect rod/stroke ratio.

Incase you're interested, I'm going all motor high compression GSR block/head with Endyn pistons, eagle rods, stroked with a ls crank, REV stainless valves, portflow springs and titanium retainers, head surfaced, valve seats ground to match, block bored, decked, & micced, rotating assembly balanced, lightened 13LB flywheel, stock clutch, LS tranny, stock exhaust for now, stock GSR intake manifold and throttlebody, non-heat conduction intake manfold gasket, RC 310cc injectors, 2.75" CAI, chipped p28 ECU (8500 redline), aluminum front and rear strut tower bars, 17" Enkei Zenki's (sp?) and I think that covers what I have now.

The car was lowered about 2" when I bought it, I have since raised it back up with 2001 stock gsr shocks/springs. Hated grinding over speed bumps.

I plan to get a Hyfire VI, a ceramic coated header, shiny new QUIET muffler, larger bore fuel rail, adjustable fuel regulator, and after having given it some thought from this thread, maybe a VAFC.
