Nissan MID4

there is a Nissan MID4 model at my hobbyshop, I've never seen a model of this car before but testors made one god knows how long ago.

here is a link to what the Nissan MID4 is
http://zhome.com/History/MID-4.htm

I think this would be a really hot model to build and am considering picking the model up ASAP.

have you other nissan nuts ever seen this beauty? any of you have this model kit or have it built and if so, how is the kit?

Re: Nissan MID4

It's originally made by Fujimi; I believe Veyron built one awhile back. From what I understand, it's not too bad.

That's a very interesting page. There's been a MID4 on my hobby shop's clearance table for months, maybe I'll pick it up. I never knew how awesome that car was, or how integral it was to Nissan's development of their supercars. Very interesting! Thanks!

I built it its not to bad it has a right hand drive set up that is extra and lowerd suspension. A few parts need work to get them to fit but it came out ok. I wished that it had some kind of body kit it looks plain. The kit is nice and was my first nissan kit .

I had a chance to look through the parts of the Fujimi release and passed on it. Basically it's a nice shape, very reminiscent of the Honda NSX, but the wipers were molded in and really ugly.

actually I just picked up the Testors model about 2 weeks ago at the LHS. man was that thing covered in dust! It must have been sitting there on the shelf for a long time. The copyright on the Testors brochure in the box was from '87!
anyway it was cheap and I figured it might look pretty cool if the front and rear vents were replaced with mesh, different rims, and maybe an SAS rear wing. They also had an old RX-7 (2nd gen?) and I think a 944 Turbo by Testors too. might have to go back and pick them up too!

Re: Nissan MID4

yeah, for $10 I'll pick it up and throw it in with my other unbuilt kits. better to have it for $10 then to not have it and have to try and hunt it down. I like your idea about mesh in the vents though, that should be really nice.

Mid4

note there are 2 MID4 cars by Nissan. One was the prototype for the Z31 300ZX, and the other was the prototype for the Z32 300ZX.

Here's a pic of some kits (from Yahoo Japan, nigh on impossible to buy off there unless you have a mate in Japan).

2 are 1/24 by Fujimi, 2 are 1/48 (!!) by Fujimi.

Regards,
Ben

and the Testors version is based on the first gen (Z31) MID4 Fujimi kit.

Re: Nissan MID4

wow I'd really like that white or blue one.. any chance of finding one not outrageously priced? white one looks like it has engine detail which is a real +
