crx b18 swap

I'm new to the CRXs, but they seem like great cars (and they arent too expensive). I would be interested in doing some kind of swap. I was wondering if swapping in the integra b18 engine was possible. Also, if it is possible, what would i be getting myself into. In other words, how much would it cost me and how much is involved? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can swap in a B18 not much effort. Hasport has a pretty good outline of what is needed so you can start there...link. Read and then come back and ask specific questions.

Re: crx b18 swap

b16 swap is around 2200, depending on the model of the crx, and then just take 1580 - (b18 engine cost) and take that from the 2200 that is about what it will cost so basically you can do it for around 1700-1800 depending how much you got the engine/tranny/ecu for and what model crx ya got.

it depends on which b18 you want, cuz the ls long block, you can probalby find that for like 1200. the gsr is more expensive. for the complete swap, axles and everything, the cheapest i found was for 3300. but yes this is totally possible.

Totally agree with you on the b18. It really depends what b18 you're talking about. As far as your CRX goes, you can swap a b16a which will give you 160hp, I can get that complete swap for $1400+shipping. If not, you can get any other B series, such as..

b18a/b - LS motor. $1800+shipping plus it will come with OBD0 distributor and injectors so that it'll fit your car. 140hp/130tq.

b16a2 - SIR II. $2400 with LSD. Plus shipping. Will come with the OBD0 distributor and injectors to fit your spec. 170hp/118tq.

b18c"1" - (JDM) GSR (SIR-G). $3400 with LSD. $3200 without LSD. Plus shipping. Will come with the OBD0 distributor and injectors to fit your spec. 180hp/126tq...that's a rough estimate. I'm sure someone else on here will know the exact numbers . Remember, it's a JDM motor.

b18c"5" - (JDM) Type R. $3800+shipping. Complete motor. Once again, Will come with the OBD0 distributor and injectors to fit your spec. 200hp/136tq.

I hope this helped. Theses are all of my prices by the way. The reason for the OBD stuff is that whatever motor you get, you'll need to have it fit your car..IE an LS motor won't work in an 88 CRX because the 88 is a OBD0 and the LS is OBD1...
