eBay RX-7's
I live in a crap hole corner of Louisiana, a virtual waste land for performance cars aside from the occasional roaming pack of Civics. But with only a body kit and an exhaust reminiscent of a pissed off bumble bee you can hardly call these "performance" vehicles. To make a long story short while surfing on eBay I located a couple of '93 RX-7's some of which with fairly low miles considering their year. But with all the horror stories I've heard about buying items on eBay I was more then a little hesitant to bid on any of the cars sold there. I was wondering if anyone has some tips (questions I should ask the owner and such) on buying a car "site unseen" particularly in buying RX-7's.

I actually bought my 87 RX-7 Turbo II off E-bay.
The guy lived 45 minutes away, so I was able to actually look at it and test drive it. If you are unable to look at it personally I would say forget about it. Especially with a car like the 3rd Gen RX-7 that requires such high maintenance and has a bad reputation for being neglected and beaten up by previous owners. If there is a good one within reasonable driving distance you should find out: How much the owner knows about RX7s If there are any service records Any current problems How many owners, and what kind of miles were put on it Just basic stuff.....if there is one you are interested in, post a link here and a few of us could check it out for your.
