Unhappy Keyless Entry Code

Hi! Thanks to your forum, I was able to find the sticker on the silver box in the tire compartment with the code. Problem is ; it's impossible to read, or get to. I have a 96 Explorer XLT. Is there any other area where I might find the code? Thanks so much.

DLacy I have a 98 Explorer, I looked for the sticker and the computer for 2 hours tonight before coming here. Mine is a White box over the tire hump in the cargo area. Yes it is very hard to read ....but that is the only place it can be found. I removed the top screw in the bracket and with a little pressure rotated it down and back. I was able to read a 5 number code on the right center side of the sticker. Hint ... Don't drop the screw when you put it back together! Good Luck![/quote]

Thanks BarryKlein: I set aside time this morning, to "GET THAT NUMBER"!!! Well: I got it thanks to you. I finally got the screw removed, and pulled on the box until I could read it. Works like a charm. Now, about putting that screw back in place... Well let's just say; that's a battle for another day. Thank's again for your help. I hope I can be of assistance to someone. Thanks Again!!! I'm Out....
