Paint problems

I had planned on air brushing the boday, and just using a small brush to paint the little things. however, tonight i tried to paint the engine and the paint is very thin and dried sort of transparent. I didnt use primer first, could this be the problem. P.s. i was using Testors Acryl, it came with the spray gun i bought.

Re: Paint problems

Did you shake it up at first? You need to shake up most acrylic paints, because they are water-based.

Shaking won't do - you need to stir it well with a toothpick or something similar. At least this is what I do with Tamiya acrylics.

I tried stirring and shaking and i keep getting really thin paint... the paint has a lot of little paint bubbles throught it, is that a sign that its just not a good paint....
(the other colors contain no bubbles, and arent as thin)

Re: Paint problems

Bubble get there when you shake the paint. Stir it like the other guys say. Also has the paint settled to the bottom ?
I bought a Tamiya acrylic metalic paint and all the paint had settled to the bottom, I had to shake and shake and stir and stir for ever until it all finally dissolved again. I just stir may paints prior to thinning them and airbrushing them.
