Civic Coupe rear side window glass tunning

Hi there! As you guys know the rear sider window glass aswell as thte rear window glass in the civic coupe is hughe, to big for an sport looking car. So I thought it could be a good idea to take the glass out and make the black painted borders thicker by painting the car color in my case black colored, which will make them look smaller.

What do you guys think about it? Has anyone done it? Any suggestions about the painting?

Honda Civic Coupe 1.6 SR 125 cv

I don't think this would look good. IMO it would look much better if you just tint your windows.

This is very true, the civic looks high on his stock suspension. As first mods I would get rims/ suspension. If you drop your car +/-6cm the outside off your tyre will come equely high as the fender (with 205-45 R16 tyres)

The huge rear windows may not be sporty as you call it, but it is coupy... it's a coupe and it looks like that imo. I personally would leave it like that, I like it. Maybe you can put on a black sunstripe on the rear window (just like some have on the front window), that can look good 2 imo.
And lower it and put on some nice 16 inch rims, that really makes the car.

Hi I agree with the others that the car should be lowered with big-ish(16-17) wheels maybe a tint on the windows. The civic coupe is quite a nice sporty-ish looking car if its lowered onto the right wheels.

Hi, j.roggen! I wouldnīt even tint the windows unless you have got an airconditioning system in your car because otherwise it will heat up faster in summer than before (youīre in spain so itīll be a lot hotter than here Iīd guess). IMO the rear window isnīt too big and you have got a better sight with it.
At first I would buy a coilover system because you can adjust the height and the stiffness of your suspension with it. Itīs more expensive than just springs though but IMO itīs worth the money.
Hope it helped!

You can't go wrong with Koni suspension, same with H&R and Bilstein. I don't know the exact price for this but I'm sure the guys on here can help you out with this.

Would it be a good idea lowering just 1 or 2 cm more the front suspension than the rear suspension or they have to be equal?
I also found out that the car doesnīt grip much on curves (very closed ones), less than my old 3rd gen Golf use too, maybe because it was diesel and the engine was heavier, I donīt know. Is there anything different than changing tires I can do ?

Thanks Guys::flash:

Your suspension doesn't have to be equal. Actuelly it looks better like you said, lowering the front more than the rear.

Does your car start to slide in corners? If you lower your car, the centre off gravity will be lower and you will be more stable in turns, but I think in this case (if you start sliding in corners) it's something with your tyres...

...or perhaps you just drive to fast

I'm on aibach's right now (not soo long), but imo the comfort is still realy good! although in the beginning i experienced the rolling in cornering is much less, now after a few weeks, i feal the rolling in cornering again, and want to have it more stiff. That's why i'm getting a strut brace within some time. Just wanted to share my experience
imo it looks great when the front is lowered more than the back, i don't know which concequences it has for the driving quality.

If you can afford it, I would go with a true coilover system. It gives you the benefit of the springs being matched to the damper unit and you can adjust the height to what you like. Most true coilovers will allow you adjust how soft or firm you want each corner. I have the Koni fully threaded suspension system on my car. You can expect to pay approx EUR900-1100 for this. Shop around for the best price.

Hope it hepls

I would do (and I will do) the same! True coilover systems are the kings under the suspension mods! They are more expensive than springs or springs with dampers but IMO they are worth the money! Strut tower braces will make handling better too and IMO they look pretty cool in the engine bay! Another good brand for coilover systems is KW. I will buy them for my ITR when I got it!

I've only recently heard about KW. I got a copy of there brochure from Motorsport Int'l and it looks like a quality product. Another benefit is that they drop lower than the Koni coilover system.
